Young people wonder

In a context marked by insecurity, is the minimum guarantee in Cameroon sufficient to guarantee economic growth in Cameroon?
📌 To MINEPIA: what measures has the government taken to inform young people about sustainable development in Cameroon?
📌 To MINEPDED: food security is a major challenge for young people, what mechanisms are being implemented, how can young people get involved in implementing the policies involved?

Reply from Dr TAÏGA Minister for Livestock, Fisheries and Animal Industries

Every day, every human being must eat. Yes, there is land in Cameroon. There are all the factors involved in producing food, and everyone needs to take an interest in this area.
There are several mechanisms: enabling these young people through specified training centers, there is the youth entrepreneurship promotion program which trains young people capable of integrating socio-professionally with the involvement of young people for example, Cameroon no longer imports pork, this is what we call import-substitution, because the idea is to produce what we consume and consume what we produce.
So our teams are working closely with MINJEC to support you.

Reply from Minette LIBOM LI LIKENG, Minister of POST AND TELECOMMUNICATIONS

📌We play a central role in digital in Cameroon. We are committed to modernising infrastructure to promote equitable access to ICT. Young people now make up 70% of Cameroon's population. The aim is to present the schemes and provide the keys to fully seizing the opportunities offered by the telecommunications sector.
📌 It's an essential lever for boosting inclusion. The digital economy is an engine for job creation.
📌We are strengthening training and skills because we need to, both nationally and internationally.
In concrete terms, the Cameroonian government has launched a number of initiatives to promote innovation while supporting import-substitution. Cameroon now has 20,000km of fibre optic cable.

According to the President of the Republic, culture is an instrument for the unity of the nation and is considered to be the pillar of our unity.
A number of perspectives are being explored:
📌 The Arts Development Department 📌 The Books and Culture Department and many others.
Their aim is to put in place a policy to promote culture.
📌 The adoption of the law of 20 July 2020 governing cultural associations: the internal provisions of this law include the grouping of artists' companies. This system will allow artists and young people to be supervised at the same time.
These are the vision, the strategy put in place by this law.
This structuring will include several bodies, namely music (where there are arrangers, percussionists and lyricists), culinary arts and floral arts.

Response from the Secretary General at the Ministry of Communication.

📌 In order for a media outlet to communicate, it must have legal access to do so.
The exclusive prerogative of public media services is organised by decree of the Head of State.
📌 As for private media, they are governed by local authorities.
Online media are governed by electronic legislation under minpostel.
📌 Whether or not there are elections, the classic professional obligations, a journalist is free to do his job in strict compliance with ethics.
Those who win the elections are entitled to free media coverage on the public channel.
During the election period, the public service broadcaster (crtv) is required to broadcast special campaign programmes that are open only to candidates.
All candidates therefore receive equal airtime.

Conclusion by MINJEC

According to MINJEC, as part of the civic-mindedness minute instituted as part of PRONEC-REAMORCE, this day should focus on the need to apologise when one has committed a fault or an offence. He apologised for his lateness to the members of the government already present.
He reiterates that although certain members of the government have government contingencies, they are obliged to be there to exchange views with young people before responding to their demands.
