REPORTS ON THE EVENTS MARKING THE CELEBRATION OF THE 60TH ANNIVERSARY OF YOUTH DAY IN THE FAR NORTH REGION.
The festivities began in Maroua on 2 February with a march promoting peaceful coexistence, bringing together young people from various organisations and corporations around the Regional Governor, represented by his Secretary General. This march was followed by the symbolic launch of the space dedicated to the 60th anniversary of youth in the sub-prefecture of Maroua 1er.
A dozen young people took a course in artificial intelligence in the computer room at the bilingual secondary school in Maroua Domayo.
The national campaign for civic education and national integration is intensifying in the run-up to the 60th anniversary celebrations of Youth Day. It continued yesterday with an educational talk in front of the Lamidat of Maroua. The Prefect of the Diamare Department, representing the Governor, chaired this session, which focused on the symbols and emblems of the Republic and brought together all the third-level chiefs around the Lamido. The gendarmerie team entertained the participants and, at the end, it was recommended that all traditional chiefs incorporate the flag-raising ceremony into the customs of their populations.
Activities continue with the training of 110 young people in entrepreneurship thanks to the contribution of the President of the Regional Council of the Far North. At the same time, the food fair is also being held at the moment, with around thirty exhibitors, again funded by the President of the Regional Council.
Youth mornings and evenings are held throughout the districts of the city of Maroua and in almost the entire region.
