The police commissioner
Kpolom Rachel informs young people about how to obtain a national identity card.

To obtain a national identity card (CIN) in Cameroon, you must follow these steps:

Required documents
– Certified copy of birth certificate
– Marriage certificate (for married women)
– Proof of professional activity (if applicable)
– Certificate of nationality (for new applicants)
– Expired NIC (for renewals)

Application procedure
1. Pre-registration : Visit the official website ((link unavailable)) and complete the online form.
2. Payment : Pay the required fee of 10,000 XAF via a mobile payment service (Orange Money or MTN Mobile Money).
3. Identification office : Go to a designated identification office with the required documents and payment receipt.
4. Treatment Your CNI will be processed and issued within 48 hours.

Additional requirements
Lost or stolen national identity card : declaration of loss or theft, and copy of the lost or stolen national identity card
Change of parentage : certified extract of the judgment establishing the change of parentage
Naturalised foreigners : certified copy of the naturalisation decree

Later, another police commissioner raised awareness among young people about the harmful effects of drug use.

Here are some of the ailments associated with it:

– Physical health risks: respiratory problems, heart problems, liver damage, and increased risk of overdose and death
– Mental health issues: addiction, anxiety, depression, psychosis, and cognitive disorders
– Social consequences: strained relationships, poor performance at work or school, financial difficulties, and increased risk of accidents or violence
– Economic burden: healthcare costs, lost productivity, and law enforcement expenditures
– Gateway effect: consuming one substance can lead to trying others, which increases the risk of addiction.

Specific risks associated with certain common substances:
– Cannabis: mental health issues, respiratory problems and addiction
– Stimulants (e.g., cocaine, methamphetamine): heart problems, aggression, and paranoia
– Opioids (e.g., heroin, prescription painkillers): addiction, overdose, and respiratory depression
